Title: Assassin’s Creed Rogue: The Assassin Who Became a Templar

We see hooded heroes secretly launching themselves from rooftops to save freedom when we think of Assassin's Creed. However, Assassin's Creed Rogue changes everything. When the hunter turns into the hunted, what happens? What happens when an assassin betrays his own Brotherhood?

Assassin's Creed Rogue, which was released in 2014, takes a risk by allowing players to assume the role of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin who later becomes a Templar. One of the most original storylines in the entire franchise is presented by this surprising turn. Due to its simultaneous release with Assassin's Creed Unity, Rogue was overlooked by many fans, but among series veterans, it has quietly developed into a cult favorite.

The game is set during the Seven Years' War and takes place in the vast American wilderness, busy New York streets, and frigid North Atlantic waters. Fans' favorite Black Flag mechanic, naval battle, returns, but with much darker tone and more lethal ship upgrades. The twist? You are now discovering Templar secrets and sinking Assassin ships.

Shay's moral conflict is what makes him so interesting. In contrast to other templars who are shown as aloof and power-hungry, Shay feels that he is doing the right thing by stopping the Assassins from wreaking havoc. His metamorphosis seems painful, intimate, and oddly... justified.

In terms of gameplay, Rogue offers a well-balanced blend of stealth, exploration, and naval combat, combining the greatest aspects of Black Flag and Assassin's Creed III. As old allies turn against you and well-known Assassin tactics are now employed against you, you'll feel the consequences of every choice you make.

Assassin's Creed Rogue is ultimately more than just a spin-off. It's an essential component of AC lore, providing a new viewpoint on the enduring Assassin vs. Templar war and bridging the divide between Black Flag and Unity.

Given that the remastered version is now accessible on contemporary consoles, if you haven't already, now is the ideal moment to get it. In addition to the action, the story is worth seeing for the infrequent instance in which the Creed is challenged and ultimately destroyed.
